The old standard is GB/T14976-2002, and the new standard is GB/T14976-2012. Their production process, manufacturing methods and testing standards are the same, and the quality, surface, wall thickness, and mechanical properties of stainless steel seamless pipes are the same.
The difference is that the main element chromium in the chemical composition of the material is different. The old standard is 17% chromium, and the new standard is 18% chromium. This is formulated by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC accordance to the WTO international standards and the American ASTM A959-09-A312 standard. This is because after China's accession to the WTO, product quality must meet international standards.
